The scientific library has been an integral part, an information and cultural center for about 27 years. Even in our time of general informatization, the book still remains an invaluable carrier of information.
Today, the library has an area of 450 sq. m. with a reading room for 150 seats, has about 131 thousand copies, of which more than 64,122 copies of educational literature, 59,185 copies of methodological manuals, 665 periodicals. Mostly in Ukrainian and English.
This is economic, legal, educational, scientific, social, fiction, collections of scientific works, conference materials, abstracts, dissertations, periodicals and other information materials.
Over the years, the library’s collection has been replenished not only with professional literature, but also with the works of scientific and pedagogical workers of the university. Recently, the work of departments on the preparation and publication of their own educational literature with the seal of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has been intensifying.
The library fund, as one of the most stable elements of the information system of society, has been formed for decades. Over the years of its activity, the library of VFEU has formed a universal fund on traditional and electronic media. Priority attention was paid to the acquisition of textbooks, teaching and methodological manuals on subjects studied at the college and university.

Organizational and Methodological Department
The Organizational and Methodological Department is a structural unit of Vinnytsia University of Finance and Economics. It was created to coordinate methodological work at the university departments.
The work of the methodological department is aimed at implementing the main goal in the field of quality – the creation of a single information and methodological space, contributing to the development and improvement of the education system at the university.
The main tasks that the organizational and methodological department solves in its daily work:
implementation of the principle of modernization of education;
determination of the main directions of methodological work and a unified approach to solving educational and methodological issues at the university, taking into account the achievements of higher education and in accordance with the regulatory documents of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine;
introduction of the latest learning technologies into the educational process in accordance with the requirements of multi-stage training and improvement of educational and methodological support according to the credit-modular system of organizing the educational process.
Important areas of the department’s work are:
providing advisory assistance in the formation of an educational and methodological complex of disciplines according to curricula;
conducting an analysis of the provision of disciplines with educational and methodological literature;
formation of a plan for the publication of educational and methodological materials.
quality control of methodological support for classroom and independent work of students;
organization of educational and methodological work based on progressive methods and forms of teaching, application of the latest technical means of training and quality control of knowledge;
organizational and methodological support for the accreditation of training areas and specialties of the university;
In recent years, the organizational and methodological department has managed to significantly increase the level of methodological support of the educational process. In particular, the transition to a credit-modular system for assessing students’ knowledge has been made; the classroom workload of students has been reduced and emphasis has been placed on their independent work; planning for the preparation of methodological instructions has been improved; an electronic database of educational and methodological support for all disciplines has been created and this database is constantly monitored; scientific and methodological seminars and conferences have become regular, and textbooks have been published, including those with the seal of the Ministry of Education and Science.
